Is a Hindu ritual performed to appease and liberate the souls of ancestors, especially when they are believed to be restless or stuck in a state of limbo. The term “Tripindi” refers to the offering made for three generations of ancestors typically the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Purpose : To honour and provide peace to the souls of deceased ancestors. - To resolve any ancestral issues or unresolved matters that might be affecting the family. - To ensure that ancestors are liberated (moksha) and can move on from their state of unrest.
Ritual Process-Preparation : The ritual is generally performed at sacred sites such as riverbanks or temples.
Offerings : Includes the offering of food (Pinda), water, and other items, which are believed to nourish and appease the ancestors.
Mantras and Prayers: Specific mantras and prayers are recited to invoke the presence of the ancestors and to seek their blessings.
